Basketball Dribbling Drill: 2 Ball Dribbling Drills

Here are some great ball handling drills for players of all ages. All drills require the use of 2 basketballs.

Set up: Position 5 chairs, garbage cans, boxes, or cones in a straight line, approximately 5 feet apart. For the sake of the examples we will use cones.

1) 2 ball dribble: Start just before the first cone and dribble both balls at the same time. Weave in and out of all 5 cones while maintaining a waist high dribble with both balls.

2) 2 ball alternate dribble: Start just before the first cone and dribble both balls at the same time, alternating, meaning that when one ball is hitting the floor, the other ball should be at the top of the dribble in the other hand. Weave in and out of all 5 cones while maintaining a waist high, alternate dribble.

3) 2 ball low dribble: Start just before the first cone and dribble both balls at the same time. The top of the dribble should be no higher than the player's knees. Weave in and out of all 5 cones while maintaining a low dribble with both balls.

Performing each of these drills during each practice will help turn your players into exceptional ball handlers.
